"The Rocky Mountain Rocket Man"
RIGHT WING PRIMARY ERA: BUTTERFLY
GM: 1638 G: 935 A: 1006 PTS: 1941
Joe Romain grew up on a farm just outside of Winnipeg Manitoba and from the very first moment he laid eyes on a stick he loved to shoot. Romain shot every minute he could as a boy, in the backyard, the local rink, inside his home, no matter the place you could find him shooting a puck. The same held true when he reached the MLH. Joe scored a MLH record 935 goals during his 1638 game career and never stopped shooting. He was the ultimate sniper in the game through the 90's and 2000's. He is the only player to eclipse the 900 goal mark and finished just 59 points shy of 2,000 points. He was an offensive force that drove an era. But, that is not the entire story for Romain. He was also a great 200 foot player. In fact, he won the Carrison Trophy twice in his career as the best two-way player in the league. He was also a tremendous leader and teammate over his career and served as captain or alternate captain on every team he played for. Joe Romain was a generational superstar that never stopped shooting his shot.
