"CAPTAIN COURAGE"

Ernie Evans is one of only 3 players to have scored 700 MLH goals. His longevity in the game and skill-set made him one of the most dominant offensive players of his generation. All and all he appeared in 1662 MLH games with 8 different ) franchises (San Francisco, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Montreal, St. Louis, Denver, and Toronto) and served as captain for 4 of them. He was a throwback to the old power forwards of the 50's and 60's that would fight and score. When he burst onto the scene in 1990 he quickly showed the fiery type of player he was going to be serving a 10 game suspension for contact with a referee during a 3rd man in penalty. Despite the suspension he still won the Rookie of the Year by a landslide. Major awards aside Evans spent most of his career chasing the elusive Victors Cup. He went to the Finals twice but never could win the big prize. It is a fact that no doubt is frustrating to him but does not diminish his extraordinary career.
